"‘I shall sit here,’ the Footman remarked, ‘till tomorrow—’
‘—or next day, maybe,’ the Footman continued in the same tone, exactly as if nothing had happened. 'I shall sit here,' he said, 'on and off, for days and days.'
'But what am I to do?' said Alice.
'Anything you like,' said the Footman, and began whistling."

And it certainly did seem a little provoking (‘almost as if it happened on purpose,’ she thought) that, though she managed to pick plenty of beautiful rushes as the boat glided by, there was always a more lovely one that she couldn’t reach.
‘The prettiest are always further!’
What mattered it to her just then that the rushes had begun to fade, and to lose all their scent and beauty, from the very moment that she picked them? Even real scented rushes, you know, last only a very little while—and these, being dream-rushes, melted away almost like snow, as they lay in heaps at her feet.

You took the wrong turn
You chose the wrong path
Now you will never know
What could have been
Let me go back to
A time that never was
(I miss you)
(What could have been)
Let me go back to you
(A time that could have been)
You were too afraid
You were too complacent
Now it's too late to change
What could have been
Let me go back to
A time that never was
(I miss you)
(What could have been)
Let me go back to you
(A time that could have been)
It's too late
For you
Far too late
For you
You thought you had it all
Had it all figured out
Now it seems clear to me (Yes, it's all clear to me)
You were wrong
Let me go back to
A time that never was
(I miss you)
(What could have been)
Let me go back to you
(A time that could have been)

You think I don’t know
You think I can’t tell
You think I can’t see
In my peripheral vision
An oddity
Still amusing
Everyone needs a friend
They can look down upon
You think I don’t know
You think I can’t tell
You think I can’t see
The looks you’re giving me
You think you’re so kind
You’re such a good person
You think I’d be grateful
To be allowed in your midst
Like a real person (an oddity)
Let’s all pretend (still amusing)
I’m a real person (everyone needs a friend)
It’s the right thing to do (they can look down upon)
I’m grateful you know
I’m glad to have purpose
The view from the outside
It suits me just fine
But please don’t pretend
There’s more than one reason
You’d let me stay near
But your own validation
Like a real person (an oddity)
Please don’t pretend (still amusing)
I’m a real person (everyone needs a friend)
Not the right thing to do (they can look down upon)

A Gentle Escape

A suicide bag, also known as an exit bag, is a device consisting of a large plastic bag with a drawcord used to commit suicide. It is usually used in conjunction with an inert gas like helium or nitrogen, which prevents the panic, sense of suffocation and struggling during unconsciousness usually caused by the deprivation of oxygen in the presence of carbon dioxide. This method also makes the direct cause of death difficult to trace if the bag and gas canister are removed before the death is reported. Right-to-die groups recommend this form of suicide as certain, fast and painless.

‘Nun, jetzt können wir Gott danken.’
From Die Verwandlung by Franz Kafka
'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where—' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
'—so long as I get somewhere,' Alice added as an explanation.
'Oh, you're sure to do that,' said the Cat, 'if you only walk long enough.'
